DDDA vows to promote Dublin docklands

The Dublin Docklands Development Authority has promised to do more to promote the areas it is rejuvenating.

The DDDA's annual report for 2002 said development of Dublin's north and south docks was continuing successfully, with the second phase of the IFSC completed and the Grand Canal harbour development underway.

It said the extension of the LUAS system into the docklands was critical, but not sufficient to meet the area's needs. The DDDA said a metro or alternative heavy rail system should also be built.
