Minister goes to Rome to discuss Irish Box

The Minister for the Marine is to meet his Italian counterpart in Rome tomorrow to discuss the Irish Box.

The Italian Government has taken over the EU presidency and Minister Paolo Scarpa will have responsibility for achieving a political deal at the fisheries council.

Minister Dermot Ahern will be explaining the importance of the Irish Box for Ireland and asking for continued protection from increased Spanish fishing in our waters.
