African oil wealth 'should be used to benefit the poor'

Irish aid agency Trócaire has called on the United States and other Western nations to ensure that Africa's oil wealth benefits the poor.

The agency is due to launch a report later today outlining the practices of Western oil firms that operate in Africa.
