Anti-war movement plans protest

The Irish Anti-War Movement is holding a major demonstration outside the US ambassador’s residence in Phoenix Park on Friday July 4 at 6pm to coincide with the annual US Independence Day celebrations.

The protest is calling for an end to US military occupation of Iraq and for a halt to US support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

The protest will take place while the ambassador’s residence is hosting its annual Fourth of July event for Irish politicians and dignitaries.

Speakers at the protest will include Iraqi, Palestinian and US citizens opposed to on-going occupations of Iraq and Palestine.
