Symphysiotomy group to meet Minister
The Survivors of Symphysiotomy organisation has accepted an invitation to talks with Health Minister Micheál Martin.
Last month, the group called for a public inquiry into the carrying out of symphysiotomies in Irish hospitals.
Symphysiotomy is an operation whereby the pelvic bone is broken to allow for childbirth.
Many Irish women have claimed that the surgery left them with back pain, walking difficulties, incontinence and depression.
Mr Martin has already rejected their call for a public inquiry, but he has invited the SOS group to talks about the make-up of a possible investigation.
