Severe weather creates hazardous driving conditions

The National Safety Council has advised motorists to take extra care on Ireland's roads today following a severe weather warning from Met Eireann.

The council said heavy rainfall of up to 50mm would result in reduced visibility, flooding and slippery surfaces throughout the country.
