Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has rejected suggestions that the resignation of the chairman of the Flood Tribunal was sparked by the Government's negative attitude to the tribunal.

Reports at the weekend said Justice Fergus Flood decided to step down after Government attempts to frustrate the work of his inquiry into alleged planning corruption.
