National minimum wage to increase

The national minimum wage is to increase to €7 an hour from next February.

The national minimum wage is to increase to €7 an hour from next February.

The move was recommended by both the Irish congress of Trade Unions and IBEC and is contained in the sustaining progress agreement.

The increase, from the current rate of €6.35, will come into effect on February 1 next year.
