Gardaí trials set for July
Six gardaí who were charged with assaulting protesters at the 'Reclaim the Streets' riots last year will have their trial dates fixed on July 15.
Donal Corcoran, Paul Tallon, Thomas Victory, Paul Daly, Ronan Judge and Fergus Hogan previously had their cases split in to four parts. Corcoran and Tallon will be tried alone.
Mr Shane Murphy SC, prosecuting, today told Judge Desmond Hogan at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court that the case had been put in because a number of disclosure matters needed to be resolved and they nearly had been.
Judge Hogan said today that he would have fixed trial dates for them all only he had excused their attendance on the last day and now only Corcoran and Tallon were in court.
He wanted to fix dates for all the trials together to suit the smooth running of the courts list.
He adjourned the case until July 15 and ordered that all six accused attend
court so that he could fix trial dates for October.
