Scappaticci wins legal battle
The man identified as the army’s top spy inside the IRA today won the first round in his legal fight to force the British government to make a declaration on his status.
Amid fears that terrorists are plotting to kill Freddie Scappaticci – the west Belfast republican named as agent Stakeknife – a judge ruled he could proceed with his bid to make security minister Jane Kennedy break her silence.
