Anti-Agreement Armitage resigns from UUP

Pauline Armitage, a former member of the Northern Assembly, has resigned from the Ulster Unionist Party in protest at the policies of party leader David Trimble.

Pauline Armitage, a former member of the Northern Assembly, has resigned from the Ulster Unionist Party in protest at the policies of party leader David Trimble.

Ms Armitage was suspended from the UUP in November 2001 for refusing to support Mr Trimble's decision to return to sharing power with Sinn Fein.

She is considering the possibility of joining the anti-Agreement UK Unionist Party.
