140% rise in calls to Immigration Council
The founder of the Immigration Council of Ireland has claimed that very little is being done with regard to an immigration policy in this country.
Sister Stanislaus admitted that asylum seekers are being catered for.
However, she insisted that a policy which covers students and business people looking for employment as well as those seeking asylum is desperately needed.
Sister Stanislaus was speaking in the context of the increase in calls which have been made to the council in recent months.
The council have announced that there has been a 140% increase in the amount of pleas and calls received since March of this year.
