Unions representing employees of CIE are due to meet today to discuss planned industrial action.

Unions representing employees of CIE are due to meet today to discuss planned industrial action.

The action is in protest at the Government's plans to break up the company and privatise 25% of Dublin bus services.

Both SIPTU and the National Bus and Railworkers Union have already served strike notice on the company.

The unions have insisted that whatever action they take will be designed not to affect the Special Olympics or the Leaving Cert exams next month.
