Dublin murder: Man arrested in London

Police in London have arrested a man in his 60s in connection with the murder of a 29-year-old woman in west Dublin last night.

The man is believed to have been arrested after disembarking from a flight from Dublin to Heathrow early this morning.

The woman's body, which had a stab wound to the back of the neck, was found in a bedroom in a house on St Peter's Road in Walkinstown at around 10.45pm.

Gardai made the discovery after being alerted by relatives who became concerned when they couldn't contact the woman, who was originally from Co Wicklow.

The scene in Walkinstown has been sealed off pending technical examination and a post mortem will be carried out later today.
