INO slams board failure to implement reports
The Irish Nurses Organisation has accused the North-Eastern Health Board of spending more than €500,000 on reports that were never implemented.
The INO said the health board commissioned five external reports over the past two-and-a-half years, but never acted on their recommendations.
Patsy Doyle, the organisation's industrial relations officer, said: "We've been subjected to a parade of external consultants over the last couple of years.
"It doesn't appear to have yielded cohesion, it doesn't appear to have harnessed the talents of our members and it certainly hasn't improved the quality of patient care.
"There are serious questions of credibility and accountability to be answered here."
