Gardaí investigate north Dublin armed robbery

Gardaí in North Dublin are investigating a violent robbery overnight in which 14 firearms were stolen.

Three people were held hostage during the raid on a house north of Balbriggan.

It is understood four armed masked men broke into a house on the Coney Hill area north of Balbriggan at about 1.20am.

They confronted the three occupants of the house. The residents were then locked into a room while the raiders ransacked the house.

The armed robbers stole 14 firearms, cash and jewellery as well as a black Isuzu four wheel drive.

The scene has now been sealed off for technical examination and a full investigation has been launched.
