Visitor numbers to Ireland may increase this summer with bookings picking up, Minister for Tourism John O'Donoghue said today.

Mr O'Donoghue said Ireland may record an increase on last year's visitor figures.

He was speaking in Co Kerry, where over 300 foreign tour operators are in Killarney for the Ireland Travel Trade Workshop.

Mr O'Donoghue said that after a gloomy start, forecasts for the year have improved considerably.
