Landlords concerned about new Housing Act
The Irish Property Owners' Association has expressed concern about sections of the proposed Housing Act which it claimed could be abused by tenants.
The IPOA said a blanket four-year tenancy right contained in the proposed act should be withdrawn.
The association claimed that evidence from other countries with similar laws showed that troublesome tenants can cause financial problems for landlords through damage to property and the legal cost of eviction.
