German pharmaceutical to create 400 jobs
A German pharmaceutical firm is due to announce plans to create 400 jobs in north Dublin later today.
Gerard Laboratories, which already employs around 250 people in the Baldoyle Industrial Estate, is planning to create the new positions as part of an investment believed to be worth up to €40m.
The company manufactures generic pharmaceuticals and does a lot of its business in the British market.
Today's announcement comes just a week after the Celestica electronics plant in Swords, Co Dublin, announced plans to close, with the loss of 250 full-time jobs.
