The National Safety Council has received €1.25m in funding from the Irish Insurance Federation for the promotion of road and fire safety in 2003.

Speaking at the presentation of funds, the Insurance Federation's president Ian Stuart called for appropriate support in terms of adequate garda enforcement levels on Irish roads.
