Two of the stranded party were winched to safety by helicopter during the rescue on Lough Erne at Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh.

The six children and five adults were returning from a wedding on Lusty Beg Island when their hire cruiser ran aground.

A lifeboat crew from Enniskillen and a helicopter from the Irish Air Corp across the border in Co Donegal were sent to the stranded guests.

Despite nobody being injured the guests were shocked but quite lucky because the weather conditions were not good.
