Limerick shooting leaves man critical

A man has been shot in Limerick City in the past few hours.

It happened at around 2pm on a roadway in Moyross where he was shot in the back.

He then fled into a nearby house followed closely by a number of masked men who proceeded to shoot him in the leg.

The man was rushed to Limerick's Regional Hospital where it is believed he is in a critical condition.

Gardai say they are following a definite line of inquiry.

It is the second shooting in the city in less than three days.
