The Democratic Unionist Party has handed in its nominations for the Northern Assembly elections, which are due to be postponed by the British government.

Party spokesman Peter Robinson said the electoral office accepted his nomination and deposit and claimed that if six or less people were nominated in his constituency, he would be deemed elected.

Mr Robinson said the election is still scheduled for May 29 and will remain so until legislation allowing for a postponement passes through both houses of the British parliament.
