Hopes of NI breakthrough fade

Hopes of a breakthrough in the peace process before the dissolution of the Northern Assembly on Sunday night are fading today.

Yesterday, British Prime Minister Tony Blair demanded that the IRA make a clear and unambiguous statement promising to end all paramilitary activity, the decommissioning of all its weaponry and declaring an end to its war with Britain.
