Four people have died on Ireland's roads over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, a reduction on last year's death toll of five.

Two of this year's victims died in an accident in Co Tipperary, while one person each died in crashes in Co Sligo and Co Cork.

Two other people are in a critical condition in hospital after separate hit-and-run incidents in the Blanchardstown and Finglas areas of Dublin yesterday.

Four people also died in road accidents in the North over the holiday weekend.
