The cause of a fire at a hotel in Dublin overnight is being investigated by gardaí today.

The cause of a fire at a hotel in Dublin overnight is being investigated by gardaí today.

All 200 guests were evacuated from Waltons Hotel on North Frederick Street when the fire began in a basement before midnight, and spread through the building.

Seven units of the fire service attended the scene and the fire was brought under control after 2am this morning.

One person was hospitalised and the scene is being preserved pending a full investigation.
