Health, lifestyle survey confirms binge-drinking rise
A new Health and Lifestyle survey is confirming an increase in the level of binge-drinking over the past four years.
The study, conducted for the Department of Health, shows a 4% increase in binge-drinking by men and women.
Survey director Professor Cecily Kelleher, says while a growing number of school children claim that they never take a drink, alcohol abuse is still a serious problem for second level students.
