Three quizzed in cyclist assault probe
Gardaí investigating a serious assault on a cyclist on Dublin’s Grafton Street have been contacted by three men who made statements on the incident.
It is believed the men presented themselves voluntarily at Pearse Street garda station yesterday afternoon to help the team with their inquiries.
Barry Duggan, a 35-year-old librarian, was attacked as he made his way down the shopping street in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He remained in a critical condition in St James’ Hospital today.
Closed-circuit television pictures were being used by gardaí investigating the death and a file was being passed to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
