IMPACT to protest against Duchas break-up

The IMPACT trade union is planning to hold a demonstration outside the Dáil later today to protest against Government plans to break up Duchas, the national heritage service.

The union said the plans would interfere with the long-term protection of Ireland's heritage, and would cost the taxpayer money through the creation of new bodies to replace Duchas.
