The British and Irish governments say they still hope to publish their blueprint shortly for breaking the deadlock in the peace process and restoring devolution in the North.

This afternoon, the US special envoy to Ireland, Richard Haass, said he would stay on as long as he could be of use and appealed to all political leaders to show foresight.
