The leader of Sinn Fein in the Dáil has called for a debate on Tuesday next on the peace process to go ahead, despite the cancellation of the blueprint presentation.

Cavan-Monaghan TD Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin insisted: “That debate should proceed and the Taoiseach should ensure that it is an informed debate by publishing the Joint Declaration.

“The debate is an opportunity for constructive engagement.

“It should not be used as a blame game but should focus on the need for all parties and both Governments to consolidate and build upon the progress made in the negotiations of recent days and weeks.”
