The Peace and Neutrality Alliance has said that the United Nations should be given temporary control over Iraq following the overthrow of President Saddam Hussein by the United States and Britain.

Speaking at a press conference in Dublin, PANA chairman Roger Cole said the US and British armies should withdraw from Iraq following the collapse of Iraqi authority in Baghdad yesterday.
