CSO figures show unemployment increase

The number of people out of work in Ireland rose by 0.3% in the past year, figures from the Central Statistics Office revealed today.

Unemployment increased from 4.2% in April 2002 to 4.5% at the end of March 2003, representing 5,807 more people without jobs.
