Gardai hold three in connection with suspected gangland killing

Three people, one a woman, were being questioned by gardai today about a suspected gangland killing in Dublin.

Raymond Sallinger, 40, was shot dead while watching soccer on TV with friends at a bar in the city centre in January.

Gardai said two armed and masked men carried out the attack, hitting Mr Sallinger in the head and chest.

Detectives indicated the murder, the latest of a series over a period of weeks, was linked to drugs gang activities.

The three people in custody today were being held at two Dublin garda stations.
