Poll: support for Ireland backing war on Iraq

An opinion poll published this morning in a Sunday newspaper reveals that a majority are backing Ireland's support of the US war on Iraq because of economic interests.

A Sunday Independent IMS survey also concludes however that a small majority still oppose the continued use of Shannon airport by US military personnel.

More than 10,000 people yesterday took part in a large protest in the capital calling to an end to the coalition's war on Iraq.
