The Women's Coalition in the North has announced plans to field seven candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for May 29.

The Women's Coalition in the North has announced plans to field seven candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for May 29.

The party's two existing MLA's, Monica McWilliams and Jane Morrice, will defend their seats in south Belfast and north Down, while community workers Eithne McNulty and Anne Monaghan have been selected to contest seats in Fermanagh/south Tyrone and east Antrim respectively.

Trade unionist and human rights activist Elizabeth Byrne-McCullough will also stand in north Belfast for the Women's Coalition, while community activist Joan Cosgrove will contest the south Antrim constituency and former primary school principal Trudy Miller will stand in south Down.
