Cancer 'epidemic', claims lobby group

Independent group, the Cancer Services Campaign, says Ireland has an epidemic of cancer which is ravaging our families.

Spokesperson Gerry Cowley says that in one or two hours in this country, a family some where will receive devastating news of a diagnosis of cancer.

Furthermore, one in four people are dying from the disease.

The deputy is now encouraging people to turn out at a march next Saturday outside the Dáil. The rally is to highlight the poor quality of cancer treatment services in this country.
