Ahern rejects calls for longer Iraq debate

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has rejected calls to extend the length of a Dail debate on the Iraq war today.

Fine Gael, the Labour Party and the Green Party had requested the extension, saying six-and-a-half hours was not enough time to discuss such a serious matter.
