Former Ulster scots head jailed for 21 months
A senior Northern Ireland civil servant who arranged to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex in his Chicago hotel room has been jailed for twenty-one months.
Stan Mallon, the ex-chief executive of the Ulster Scots Agency, escaped the maximum sentence of more than four years.
The judge ruled he was suffering from "diminished capacity" at the time of the crime.
He has already served a year behind bars and is now due to be released in nine months.
