The decision by the board of Teagasc to close 10 advisory offices nationwide and relocate staff has been branded a blow to agriculture by Fine Gael.

Fine Gael's David Stanton raised the issue during an adjournment debate in the Dáil this week. He said the farming industry is on its knees and cannot afford to lose another piece of infrastructure.
