Police petrol-bombed on Bogside
Police came under petrol bomb attack in the republican Bogside area of Derry.
Ten petrol bombs and a paint bomb were thrown, said a police spokesman. No one was reported to have been injured.
The trouble broke out during a security alert in Fahan St after police and an army bomb disposal team were sent to the area after a suspicious object was found in the roof of a car.
A number of houses in the street were evacuated at the request of the army bomb team.
One vehicle was reported to have been damaged by a petrol bomb.
Meanwhile, a controlled explosion was carried out on a suspect car left outside the new multi-million pound prestige Laganside Courthouse in Belfast.
