Landslide coast road closure

A landslide of large rocks tonight forced the closure of a section of coast road in Co Antrim.

The road was closed at Garron Point, between the villages of Carnlough and Waterfoot, a few miles from the port of Larne.

Police warned that there was a danger of further landslides and urged motorists to stay away.

They said that the road would be closed for the foreseeable future.

Department of Regional Development Roads Service staff were due to inspect the scene.
