McAleese begins Australia visit

President Mary McAleese will begin an official nine-day visit to Australia later today.

The President is expected to review the St. Patrick's day parade in Sydney on her tour and will also be stopping in Australia's capital Canberra on the 17th.

There, the Irish President will meet the Governor General of Australia and will lunch with several hundred 'friends of Ireland'.
