Gardaí seize €1.2m in counterfeit sportswear

Gardaí in Co Louth have seized up to 50 boxes of counterfeit sportswear during a raid on a warehouse close to the Armagh border.

The fake Nike, Adidas and Reebok clothes, which Gardai said were worth €1.2m, were found in two warehouses in Carrickarnon, off the main Dublin-Belfast road, as part of planned raid.

The operation followed a lengthy investigation conducted in conjunction with the PSNI.

The raid was apparently triggered by a tip-off to the Crimestoppers hotline.
