Irishman facing extradition from Spain to Britain

Police in Spain have arrested a 58-year-old Irishman on foot of extradition request from the British authorities.

Dubliner Daniel Redmond, who is wanted for questioning in connection with alleged drug smuggling and money laundering in north-east England, was arrested yesterday in the resort town of Fuengirola.

He is being held in prison in Malaga and is expected to be taken to Madrid in the coming days to await extradition proceedings.
