Man charged with blaze murder

A 28-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a man who died during a blaze at his home in Bangor, County Down.

The man will appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court in connection with the death of Michael O’Hare.

Mr O’Hare, 36, died in a suspicious fire at his flat in the town’s Dufferin Avenue on Saturday night.

Firefighters dragged him from the flat but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second man who was helping police inquiries was tonight released without charge.
