Man dies in gas accident

One man has died and another is seriously injured following a gas accident in Co Monaghan.

It happened at Broomfield, Castleblayney at around 3.20pm.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was taken to Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda with serious injuries.

It's believed the dead man was operating a welder when the accident occurred.
