Safety Council reports 37% fall in road fatalities
The National Safety Council has reported that road accident fatalities so far this year are down 37% on figures for the same period last year.
The council said 43 people have died in road accidents during January and February 2003, compared to 68 in the first two months of 2002.
Five of this year's fatalities died in the last seven days and 22 this month, according to the NSC's provisional figures.
