Adams, McGuinness to meet Taoiseach in Dublin
Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness are due to meet the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, in Dublin today as part of ongoing efforts to resolve the current impasse in the Irish peace process.
Negotiations on the full implementation of the Good Friday Agreement began several months ago after the British government suspended the Assembly and Executive following a UUP threat to collapse the institutions. The Ulster Unionist threat was prompted by allegations of IRA intelligence gathering at Stormont and continuing paramilitary activity by mainstream republicans.
