Youth group to launch suicide awareness booklets

The National Youth Federation is to launch two booklets today to increase suicide awareness among young workers.

The booklets are part of a pilot project in the South-Eastern Health Board region aimed at educating young people about suicide and ways to prevent it.

Diarmuid Kearney, chief executive of the National Youth Federation, said voluntary and statutory organisations should co-operate more to support young people who may be feeling suicidal.
